Senegal to maintain 100% record

They left it late, but Senegal beat Zimbabwe 1-0 on Monday to get their 2021 African Cup of Nations off to a winning start, and that result will really help them grow into the tournament.

Spearheaded by Liverpool star Sadio Mane, the 2019 runners-up are on a strong run of form, winning their last two matches without conceding, as well as coming out on top in six of their last seven outings.

Another victory here will see them qualify for the knock-out stages if Zimbabwe draw with Malawi, and having lost just one of their last 19 internationals, they are strong favourites to pick up another victory here.

Guinea hoping to cause an upset

Standing in their way are Guinea, who have reached the knock out stages on each of the last six occasions they have qualified for the African Cup of Nations.

They also got off to a winning start by beating Malawi 1-0 on Monday, but their record is much more patchy of late, picking up only one victory in their last eight competitive games.

Three of those matches have ended in defeat, while seven of the eight fixtures have contained at least two goals.

Senegal should win and there should be at least a couple of goals, so I select Senegal to win with two or more goals in the match, picking 2-0 to Senegal as a correct score.
