Tip Reasoning

  • Sevilla have won eight of their last 12 La Liga matches (D2, L2).
  • The hosts’ defeats in that sequence came against Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid who are top and second respectively in the table.
  • Cadiz are without a win in five away league starts.
  • Sevilla ran out comfortable 1-3 winners in September’s reverse fixture at Ramon de Carranza.

Sevilla Too Strong for the Yellow Submarine

Sevilla are in great nick after winning eight of their last dozen La Liga games and Los Palanganas should enhance that sequence with a fair degree of comfort against Cadiz this weekend.

Sevilla eased their way to a 1-3 success in September’s reverse fixture at Estadio Ramon de Carranza thanks to second half goals from Ivan Rakitic, Luuk de Jong and Munir and we expect them to be far too good for the Yellow Submarine again here – despite the visitors performing with huge credit this season on their return to the top flight.

Alvaro Cervera’s side remarkably managed to win their first four La Liga matches on the road, but they have subsequently failed to earn a victory on their travels with two draws and three defeats suffered in five.

Fifth-placed Sevilla have a game in hand and look well on course for Champions League qualification this season following their great run. Those two defeats in their last 12 outings came against Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid who sit top and second respectively, so Julen Lopetegui’s charges have largely swept all opposition aside throughout the past three month’s bar Spain’s real big hitters.

The hosts rarely manage to give teams a hiding though with just five of their 18 league fixtures producing over 2.5 goals, and with all but six of Cadiz’ La Liga matches also generating less than three goals, a Sevilla win and under 2.5 goals looks the right wager here.

That obviously covers both a 1-0 and 2-0 score-line in favour of the hosts, and for any correct score players, we’re tipping up the latter as we think Los Palanganas should have far too much class for the away side once again.
