Stoke City vs Crystal Palace Predictions

Stoke may have upset the odds last weekend as they claimed a point away to Liverpool, but Paul Lambert’s men remain in deep trouble as we enter the final few weeks of the Premier League season.

The Potters sit 19th in the table, three points adrift of the safety of 17th and with the four teams directly above them all harbouring a game in hand. Survival could already be out of their hands, but a victory on Saturday would at least keep them in the running.

As you would expect from a side in their position, victories aren’t exactly coming easily to Stoke. They haven’t won a Premier League game since the middle of January, with that 2-0 win over Huddersfield being followed by seven draws and five defeats.

Crystal Palace, on the other hand, are all but out of the woods now. They are six points clear of Southampton in 18th position and lie all the way up in 11th. Many of the teams below them have a game in hand, but whilst not mathematically safe from the drop, they will be very confident in their ability to stay in the top flight.

They all but secured their safety in emphatic fashion as well, hammering Leicester 5-0 at Selhurst Park last weekend. This makes it four games unbeaten for them, and after starting the season with seven consecutive defeats and zero goals, it’s fair to say that the Selhurst Park faithful will be incredibly pleased with Roy Hodgson’s efforts.

Hodgson has even managed to make The Eagles a difficult side to beat on their travels. Palace have lost just three of their last 12 Premier League away days, although the fact they have only won three as well indicates which way this match could go.

The visitors have drawn six of their last 12 away matches in the league, and they’re coming up against a Stoke side who have drawn three of their last six at home and three in a row both home and away. We think a Draw looks the most likely outcome here, especially with Crystal Palace relaxing a bit after their stunning win last weekend. We’re backing that alongside a 1-1 correct score predictions on Saturday.

Stoke Predicted Lineup: Butland, Bauer, Shawcross, Zouma, Pieters, Shaqiri, Ndiaye, Allen, Sobhi, Crouch, Diouf

Crystal Palace Predicted Lineup: Hennessey, Aanholt, Sakho, Tomkins, Ward, McArthur, Milivojevic, Cabaye, Loftus-Cheek, Townsend, Zaha
