Strasbourg look set to get back to winning ways at home to Auxerre on Wednesday.

Liam Rosenior’s side have had tough games recently, taking just one point from matches against Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille, but they have won five of their last seven Ligue 1 home games. Christophe Pelissier’s Auxerre have lost five of their last seven away.

Strasbourg are seventh in Ligue 1, ten places and nine points above Auxerre, with five wins, one draw and three defeats from their nine games, while the visitors have won twice and lost six.

Auxerre lost 1-0 at home to Le Havre on Sunday and will have been frustrated not to break their losing habit. Auxerre were priced at 23/20 to win the game, but Le Havre had gone five Ligue 1 games without a win before this match.

Auxerre have shown defensive frailties in recent games, conceding on each of their last five Ligue 1 road trips. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in 12 of their last 15 league games.

The hosts are in fine fettle – Strasbourg have been winners in five of their last seven Ligue 1 home games.

Strasbourg will be bullish about their chances of scoring. They have found the net in 19 of their last 20 Ligue 1 games, including a 5-0 win over Angers last October.

The visitors are out of form. Auxerre have only won one of their last eight Ligue 1 matches, and six of those games have ended in defeat. They are without a win in four league games.

Strasbourg may be able to edge out Auxerre in a closely-fought game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. No team has played more Ligue 1 matches with three goals or more than Strasbourg this season and they have won four of their five games by a single goal.

Auxerre have lost out by the odd goal in two of their last three league matches.
