Strasbourg host Monaco in the round of sixteen of the Coupe de France in what looks to be one of the tastier ties of the round. Both sides progressed in fine fashion, recording 6–0 and 3–1 wins respectively.
The last time these two sides met it was a thrilling contest, with Monaco coming out on top in a 3–2 victory.
Both teams have scored in four of Strasbourg’s last five matches, with the only exception coming in this competition against fourth-tier opposition. Monaco regularly see goals at both ends, with 60% of their league games featuring both teams scoring — the third-highest rate in the division. Strasbourg aren’t far behind, with 55% of their matches also ending with goals at both ends.
This should prove to be an entertaining game between two evenly matched sides, and both teams are expected to get on the scoresheet.
Strasbourg were on a three-match winning run before losing to PSG and, despite failing to take a point, still posted an xG of 2.31 against the league leaders. With home advantage, they can push Monaco close and a 3–1 home win is not out of the question.
