Stuttgart vs Werder Bremen Predictions

Both teams to score is the best bet when Stuttgart host Werder Bremen at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Sunday. Both sides have found the net in Werder Bremen’s last three Bundesliga matches and they have scored in seven of their last eight.

Stuttgart are fourth in the league, 11 places and 25 points above Werder Bremen. They have won 17 of their 30 games this season, while the visitors have eight wins.

Stuttgart have won six of their last eight home games in the league, while Werder Bremen’s recent form has been inconsistent, with three wins, no draws and three defeats in their last six games. Bremen were 3-1 winners against Hamburg last weekend.

Last weekend, Werder Bremen beat Hamburg 3-1 in their last Bundesliga game, with Jens Stage bagging a brace, including the opener on 37 minutes. The win makes it two wins in the two matches in which Werder Bremen have been odds-on this season.

Werder Bremen will be upbeat about their prospects of finding the net here, having scored in seven of their last eight league games.

Neither side has been solid at the back. Stuttgart have failed to keep a clean sheet in five of their last seven games against Werder Bremen, while only four other teams have shipped more goals in the Bundesliga this season than the 53 that Werder Bremen have conceded – an average of 1.77 goals per game from 30 matches.

Both teams have scored in four of Werder Bremen’s last six Bundesliga games and, while Stuttgart won the last meeting between the sides 4-0, both teams scored in four of the previous six encounters.

It could be hard to separate these two sides, with the 1-1 draw looking a decent correct-score bet.
