There may not be much excitement in Sunday’s clash between Verona and Parma at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi, and under 2.5 goals looks the best bet.

Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season, with Parma 17th on one win, five draws and five defeats from their 11 games, and Verona 19th, having won none, drawn six and lost five. The visitors are two places above the hosts in the table, but just two points separate them.

Verona have been winners in four of the last five home meetings with Parma in Serie A, but they have gone 11 home games without a win. Parma have failed to win any of their last five away games.

Both teams have been disappointing up front. No side has scored fewer goals in Serie A this season than Verona’s six from 11 matches, while Parma have blanked in four of their last five away games.

Parma’s recent games suggest that this is unlikely to feature many goals. Four of their last five Serie A road games have had fewer than three goals.

It could be hard to separate these two sides, with the 1-1 draw looking a decent correct-score bet. The last Serie A match between these sides finished 0-0 but both teams have scored in Parma’s last three games.
