Villarreal are good value again

It has been profitable backing Villarreal at odds-on this season, and they are the best bet when they have been favourites. Marcelino Garcia Toral’s side have won ten of their 12 such games, resulting in a 7.12-unit profit. They can continue that run at home to Getafe on Saturday.

Villarreal are third in the league, four places and 12 points above seventh-placed Getafe, with ten wins from their 14 games this season. The visitors have six victories.

Villarreal maintained their winning run last weekend, beating Real Sociedad 3-2 to bring the hosts’ five-game unbeaten run to an end. They have won nine of the 11 games in which they’ve scored first this season (82%).

Getafe have failed to keep a clean sheet in eight of their last ten Primera Liga games.

The home side are hitting their stride. Villarreal have been winners in ten of their last 11 Primera Liga home games, and have enjoyed two straight successes at home.

Villarreal are in excellent form, having won eight of their last ten league games and gone 13 matches unbeaten at home. In contrast, Getafe have lost four of their last five away games.

The Villarreal attack is in fine form, having scored in ten consecutive games. They have managed to score two goals or more in ten of their 14 league matches this season, including a 4-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano last month.

A 1-0 win for Villarreal looks a decent correct-score option. Seven of Getafe’s last nine Primera Liga games have stayed under 2.5 goals and Villarreal have recorded two straight wins by a goal.
