Oxford have drawn three of their last five games and may be able to frustrate a Watford side who have not been at their best this season, the Hornets have also drawn three of their last six outings.

Watford vs Oxford United Predictions

  • Oxford have drawn three of their last five games.
  • Both teams have found the net in five of Watford’s last six Championship home games.
  • The last six head-to-heads have gone under 2.5 goals.

Stalemate on the cards

Watford have had a frustrating season so far and they may fall short of expectations again when they host Norwich.

The Hornets have only won two of their eight games in the Championship and are just three points clear of the relegation zone after a mixed start to the campaign.

They made the decision to replace Tom Cleverly with Paulo Pezzolano but results have not particularly improved and they may have to settle for a point against the Yellows.

Oxford have drawn three of their last five games, including stalemates against Coventry, Leicester and QPR, and they could pick up another.

Gary Rowett’s side were tipped for relegation at the start of the season but have improved after a rocky start, losing just one of their last five matches, a 1-0 defeat against Sheffield United.

The last six meetings between these two teams have gone under 2.5 goals so don’t expect a thriller, particularly as Oxford have gone two matches without finding the net.

However, both teams have found the net in five of Watford’s last six Championship home games so correct score backers should side with a 1-1 stalemate, a result which Watford have already endured this season.
