La Liga 2026/27 outright predictions with 4/1, 11/4 & 4/5 tips!

Jose Mourinho’s return to Real Madrid is the big talking point ahead of the new La Liga campaign, as Los Blancos attempt to wrestle the title back from Barcelona.

While the Big Two look unassailable at the top, there’s plenty of jeopardy further down, including a fascinating scrap for the fourth Champions League spot.

La Liga outright predictions

Barcelona to win La Liga at 4/5

Jose Mourinho’s return to Real Madrid promises to be a fascinating part of this La Liga campaign, but it’s hard to argue that he has returned to the club on merit.

Despite his reputation as a serial winner, Mourinho last won a league title back in 2015. His only trophy across his last four jobs was the Conference League he won with Roma in 2022.

Barcelona have won back-to-back titles, and they’ve put together a much more balanced squad than their old rivals.

The Catalans scored a league-high 95 goals last season, and they did it with a forward line that is committed to Hansi Flick’s high-intensity pressing without the ball.

Real Madrid’s approach doesn’t look as cohesive. Mourinho has to find a way to combine Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and new signing Yan Diomande, while also not sidelining Jude Bellingham.

Real’s top-heavy team still lacks any kind of replacement for Toni Kroos or Luka Modric, and the club was dogged by training ground bust-ups last season.

Thanks to a well-timed batch of talented academy graduates, Barcelona look to have emerged from their recent financial troubles well ahead of Real, who continue to double down on Galactico signings to their own detriment.

Villarreal to finish in the top four at 11/4

Villarreal and Marcelino couldn’t come to terms on a new contract, despite the manager leading the Yellow Submarine to a third-placed finish.

However, the club moved swiftly to appoint Inigo Perez, who led Rayo Vallecano to consecutive eighth-place finishes in La Liga, alongside last season’s run to the Conference League final.

Perez looks like a good choice of successor, and he can lead Villarreal to another top-four finish. The club have a settled squad from last season, and they’ll hope to make some opportunistic signings late in the window.

Sevilla to be relegated at 4/1

Last season’s relegation battle was tense, with 13th-placed Sevilla finishing only a point clear of the drop. The seven-time Europa League winners finished 17th in 2025, once again only a point clear of the bottom three.

A proposed takeover involving Sergio Ramos fell through, and the club have once again been forced into selling high and spending next to nothing. Bournemouth have swooped in for defender Juanlu Sanchez, sapping more quality from an already struggling outfit.

Sevilla were in the bottom three on May 1st, and they look like a side that is circling the drain. Relegation remains a real threat, and they’re a 4/1 shot to finally tumble out of the top division.
