England face the daunting prospect of taking on Mexico at the Estadio Azteca in the last 16 of the World Cup in the early hours of Sunday morning and we’ve got two bet builders for the crunch clash.
I’ve focused on the player markets for these tips, with one ambitious 100/1 Ultimate Bet Builder and a more conservative 10/1 chance.
We’ve also got a 16/1 tip for Brazil’s game against Norway which you can take a look at on our dedicated Match Prediction here.
I’ve used Paddy Power to put together these tips and new customers can take advantage of their sign-up offer and back these bets using the buttons below.
Mexico vs England Ultimate Bet Builder Tip
Harry Kane to score anytime
Harry Kane enjoyed an outrageous season at club level with 36 goals in 31 Bundesliga games for Bayern Munich and he’s been a reliable performer in an otherwise inconsistent England team with five goals in four games. Kane can add to his haul on Sunday at the Estadio Azteca.
Jude Bellingham to have 1+ shots on target from outside the box
The conditions and high altitude at the Azteca should see England make a few tactical adjustments. The Three Lions may also likely to struggle to break down a Mexico side who are yet to concede at the World Cup. These factors may lead to more shots from outside of the penalty area than we have seen from England in their previous games.
Jude Bellingham recorded a shot on target against DR Congo from outside the area and he is a player England will look to when they do try and create openings from distance. A third of Bellingham’s attempts for Real Madrid in La Liga in 2025-26 were from outside the penalty area, and overall he had a shooting accuracy rate of 50% in that competition for Los Blancos.
Julian Quinones to score or assist
Julian Quinones is Mexico’s leading scorer with three goals and he’s also provided one assist. Quinones averaged over a goal per-game for Al Qadsiah in the Saudi Pro League last season and also had four assists, he can make a key contribution against England.
Erik Lira to be shown a card
Mexico midfielder Erik Lira is yet to pick up a yellow card at the World Cup but he did receive eight bookings in 37 Liga MX games for Cruz Azul in 2025-26. Lira had two fouls in his side’s group stage win over South Korea and two or more infringements may be enough for a card against England if this game becomes a physical battle at times.
Mexico vs England Bet Builder Tip
Harry Kane to have 2+ shots on target
England captain Harry Kane scored twice against DR Congo in the previous round and he should be able to at least record two attempts on target against Mexico.
Kane is averaging 4.5 shots per game and 2.3 per game on target. The Bayern Munich man is the Three Lions focal point in attack and he can at least record two shots on target.
Julian Quinones to have 1+ shots on target
Julian Quinones has been the star man for Mexico with three goals and one assist. Quinones, who was the top scorer in the Saudi Pro League last season, is averaging 1.3 shots on target per game at the World Cup and he can at least force a save.
Anthony Gordon to create 2+ shots
Anthony Gordon should come back into the starting XI after his starring role as a substitute against DR Congo. Gordon assisted both of Kane’s goals and he also had two key passes against Ghana.
Luis Romo to be fouled 1+ times
Mexico midfielder Luis Romo has been fouled in two of his three World Cup appearances so far. The El Tri midfield will try and hold on to possession for large periods in this game and that could see the contest become a physical battle at stages, and Romo looks a good value contender to draw a foul.
