20/1 UEFA Super Cup bet builder tip for PSG vs Villa

Sports Journalist at FST, Gareth qualified as a journalist after graduating from university and spent over a decade as a freelance broadcast journalist, commentator and tipster before joining FST. Now living in Manchester, he is a long suffering Bolton Wanderers fan who also enjoys boxing, the NBA, tennis and rugby league.

Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain and Europa League champions Aston Villa meet in the UEFA Super Cup at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg on Wednesday and I’ve put together a bet builder to mark the occasion.

PSG edged out Tottenham on penalties last season and they’re aiming for back-to-back successes, while Villa claimed their solitary Super Cup success back in 1982.

PSG’s World Cup stars Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, Joao Neves and Marquinhos have all played a part in pre-season and are available. Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, Fabian Ruiz, Lucas Hernandez, Warren Zaire and Achraf Hakimi could all feature for the first time since the World Cup. Bradley Barcola will probably sit out amid speculation he could be on the move before the transfer window closes.

Summer signings Garnacho and Joao Gomes could feature for Villa, but record capture Johan Manzambi is out with a knee injury.

I’ve used Paddy Power to put together this bet and new customers can take advantage of their sign-up offer using the button below.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to score or assist @ EVS

PSG forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia had a solid season in Ligue 1 but he saved his best displays for Europe – with 10 goals and six assists in 16 Champions League games.

The Georgian was devastating against Premier League sides with four goals and four assists across six games against Spurs, Newcastle, Chelsea (two legs) and Liverpool (two legs). Kvaratskhelia didn’t make a direct goal contribution in the final against Arsenal but he is one of the European champions’ most dangerous forwards and he can either grab a goal or set up a team mate in Austria.

Alejandro Garnacho to have 1+ shots on target (including woodwork) @ 13/10

Alejandro Garnacho endured a difficult season at Chelsea last term but is set for a bigger role at Villa after joining the club on loan.

Garnacho averaged 0.5 shots on target per 90 minutes in his limited involvement for Chelsea last season. If he is involved from the off he looks a good value candidate to at least record a shot on target.

Boubacar Kamara to be shown a card @ 23/10

Boubacar Kamara missed the second half of last season due to injury but has featured in pre-season and is expected to start. Kamara had five bookings in 18 league games last term before his injury blow and is a contender for a booking in the UEFA Super Cup final.

Nuno Mendes to be fouled 2+ times @ 4/9

Nuno Mendes is a player who tends to attract fouls. The PSG defender was fouled more than once per game on average in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League last season and was fouled 12 times in total in five appearances for Portugal at the World Cup.
