Two teams in need of a boost meet in the early Premier League kick off on Saturday as Chelsea entertain Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
Visiting manager Michael Carrick is under intense pressure as his side bid to end an eight-game winless run across all competitions. Chelsea were dumped out of the EFL Cup at Liverpool in midweek and have won just two of their last six in the league. Xabi Alonso isn’t in as perilous a position as his counterpart but it is starting to look like the honeymoon is over for the former Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid manager.
We’ve got the game covered in our dedicated Match Predictions section and now I’ve delved into the player markets to put together this 21/1 bet builder tip, which can be backed with Paddy Power below.
Back our 21/1 Chelsea vs Manchester United Bet Builder here
Morgan Rogers 3+ shots
Morgan Rogers is averaging a hefty 2.5 shots per game in the Premier League and he’s had at least three attempts in four of his eight appearances. Rogers had six shots in the midweek EFL Cup clash with Liverpool and can reach at least three when United visit Stamford Bridge.
Bruno Fernandes to be shown a card
Bruno Fernandes is widely expected to be restored to the United starting side after being dropped for the defeat to Bournemouth. We should see a reaction from Fernandes and that may translate to a booking for the frustrated skipper. Fernandes has two yellow cards in seven Premier League games this season and has three bookings in his last five for club and country, so the Portugal international looks good value at 7/2 to be shown a card.
Cole Palmer 2+ shots on target
With Joao Pedro injured, Cole Palmer should take on a bit more responsibility in attack and he could potentially be deployed as a false nine after Danny Welbeck’s underwhelming display in the EFL Cup defeat to Liverpool. Palmer averages 3.3 shots per-game in the Premier League with 0.9 per game on target, so two or more on target on Saturday looks a realistic goal for the Chelsea forward.
Bryan Mbeumo 1+ shots on target
Like Palmer, Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo is averaging a hefty 3.3 shots per game in the league and he’s been fairly accurate. Mbeumo is averaging 1.4 shots on target per game and has had at least one shot on target in every league game he has played this season.
