The new football season begins in earnest this weekend as the EFL begins, and with it the return of our regular bet builder tips.
A Friday night fixture between relegated Wolves and Blackburn Rovers at Molineux in the Championship is the first game of the new season and I’ve put together a 22/1 bet builder tip to mark the occasion.
Wolves are among the favourites to be promoted as they seek an immediate Premier League return, while Rovers are among those fancied to be involved in the relegation battle.
The hosts re-signed Raul Jimenez this summer but he may have to settle for a place on the bench after a delayed start to his pre-season after the World Cup. Our tipster still fancies the hosts to claim the spoils even if their marquee capture is missing, you can read why here in our dedicated Match Predictions section here.
I’ve used Paddy Power to put together this tip and new customers can take advantage of their sign-up offer using the button below.
Back Our Wolves vs Blackburn Bet Builder Here
Fernando Lopez to score anytime
Fernando Lopez was on target in Wolves’ win over Port Vale in the EFL Cup and scored in his two pre-season appearances. The 22-year-old looks ready to hit the ground running in the Championship after returning from a loan stint at Celta Vigo and he can open his Championship account at the first opportunity against Blackburn.
Ryoya Morishita to have 2+ shots
Ryoya Morishita had five shots in Blackburn’s EFL Cup win over Burton and should be able to manage at least a couple against Wolves. Morishita averaged over one shot per game in the Championship last season.
Mateus Mane to be fouled 2+ times
Mateus Mane attracted plenty of fouls in the Premier League last season and will be a bigger target for opposition defences in the Championship now Wolves are one of the stronger teams in the division. Mane was fouled on average 1.7 times per game in the top flight last term, so two or more against Blackburn seems likely.
Adam Armstrong to have 2+ shots on target
Adam Armstrong scored against Port Vale and had three shots in total. He averaged three shots per game in the Championship last season, scoring 11 goals, and he should be able to at least test the Rovers keeper twice on Friday.
