The bet commenced in Paraguay, where we required Guarani to win the game for the leg to land. We got off to a perfect start, with Morel putting the hosts 1-0 up in the 7th minute. A tense affair followed with chances at both ends – but with 30% possession Guarani managed to hold on. A 1-0 win resulted in the first leg of our treble landing!
We required a comprehensive Medellin victory over Huracan in the second leg of our treble – and a first-half masterclass is exactly what they delivered. Goals in the 32nd, 38th and 42nd minute put the hosts 3-0 up at half-time. No more goals followed and as a result they completed the handicap win, landing the second leg of our treble.
Lastly, a low scoring game was required between Vasco da Game and Oriente Petrolero. The hosts hadn’t had a game featuring over 2 goals since November, so it was surprising to see an early 20th minute goal. Luckily, that was the only goal of the game and therefore it ended 1-0 – resulting in our 9/1 Overnight Treble being a winner!
