Riyad Mahrez

It’s a move that almost no fan of football wants to see, with Arsenal fans being the exception, but it’s been reported that PFA player of the year, Riyad Mahrez could be on his way out of Leicester City. The Algerian wizard has reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal and is just waiting for a bid to be accepted by the club in order to make his switch to North London. Ranieri has already made clear that he won’t stop his star players from leaving if that’s what they want to do, so it looks like this deal could be settled within a couple of days. The deal is expected to cost the Gunners around £40 million, which should give Ranieri plenty of funds to find a replacement.

Mahrez is not the first Leicester City player that Wenger has tried to sign this summer, as about 6 weeks ago, Jamie Vardy rejected a potential move to the Emirates in favour of remaining at the King Power stadium. This act of loyalty towards the club was expected to push fellow stars Kante and Mahrez to follow suit, however doesn’t seem to be the case, with Kante already leaving for Chelsea and Mahrez looking to be the next player out the door.

Alexandre Lacazette

A few days ago, Lyon rejected a bid of €35 million from Arsenal for their star striker, now it looks like Wenger could return with an improved offer of €40 million (£33.7 million) The pacy Lyon forward looks perfect to fit the bill at Arsenal given their lack of a true goalscoring striker and Arsenal fans will be desperate to see this bid accepted by Lyon.

The Frenchman, who missed out on Euro 2016, had another great season at the Olympique Lyonnais, scoring 21 goals in 34 games. This comes after the incredible season he had during the 2015/16 campaign which saw a whole host of European clubs declare interest in him – he scored 27 goals in 33 games during that season.

Despite his great form for Lyon, he has been unable to replicate that form in a France shirt, only scoring a single goal in his 10 appearances for Les Tricolores. Nevertheless, his strength, pace and eye for goal will be priceless to an Arsenal side who have been screaming out for a world class striker for years.
