After Bayer Leverkusen briefly ended Bayern Munich’s stranglehold on the Bundesliga in 2023/24, the Bavarian giants have returned to dominance in the two years since.

They have won the last two Bundesliga titles by a landslide, losing just three games across two seasons and, largely thanks to the sensational Harry Kane, racking up an astonishing 221 goals in 68 games.

Unsurprisingly, they are priced as huge odds-on favourites to win the title for a 36th time this season, while the newly promoted Schalke, Paderborn and debutants Elversberg will be hoping to avoid an instant return to the second flight.

Bundesliga 2026/27 outright predictions

Borussia Dortmund to win w/out Bayern Munich at 6/4

It is hard to look beyond yet another title for a Bayern Munich side that have looked unstoppable in recent years. They have added Ismael Saibari to their already stacked attacking lineup and snatched left-back Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt.

However, Borussia Dortmund look the best equipped to give them a run for their money and, while a first title since 2012 is unlikely, they should at least take the silver medal in Germany.

They finished eight points ahead of third-place RB Leipzig last season and their only major departure this summer is Karim Adeyemi, who started less than half their Bundesliga games last season and scored just seven goals.

They had added exciting teenage attacker Konstantinos Karetsas from Genk along with a host of other young prospects, leaving them with a youthful squad full of talent.

30-year-old Serhou Guirassy will remain a key leader in the squad, though, and scored 17 Bundesliga goals last season.

Bayer Leverkusen have been reduced to turmoil in the year since Xabi Alonso’s departure, while RB Leipzig have lost a prodigious talent in Yan Diomande, who registered 20 goal involvements last season.

Stuttgart will be hoping to build on a fourth-place finish last season and have kept the squad that achieved that feat together, but they were 11 points adrift of Dortmund in the end and may struggle to bridge that gap.

Stuttgart to finish in the top 4 at 5/2

Stuttgart may not be backed to beat Dortmund, but they have done some good summer business and that may be enough to secure back-to-back top-four finishes.

Arguably their greatest achievement has been in keeping hold of manager Sebastian Hoeneß, who took charge in 2023 and guided a floundering Stuttgart to safety.

He followed that by finishing a stunning second in his first full season in charge and, while they struggled in the 2024/25 Bundesliga, he led the side to their first trophy since 2007 in the DFB Pokal.

A return to the top four, despite juggling Europa League commitments, followed last season, and they have added talented youngster Dzenan Pejvinovic to their ranks this summer.

Bilal El Khannouss has signed on a permanent deal after a successful loan spell, with their attacking ranks further bolstered by the addition of left winger Leo Sauer from Feyenoord.

Bayer Leverkusen are a relatively unknown quantity after churning through two managers in a disappointing season last term, while RB Leipzig will have to contend with the return of European football, which Stuttgart successfully navigated last term.
