Championship 2023/24 special bets with 40/1 top scorer option

We’ve covered the promotion and relegation markets in the Championship earlier this week and now the focus turns to the niche markets in the second tier before FST’s outright predictions season moves on to focus om other competitions.

The top scorer and regional winners market come into focus here, and our tipster has a juicy 40/1 shot for the former.

All bets below are priced up with bet365, where new customers can claim up to £30 in free bets to use on this season’s outright tips.

Championship special bets predictions & tips

Jerry Yates Top Scorer Each Way at 40/1

A lot of clubs, including one or two in the Premier League, were chasing Jerry Yates so Swansea know they have snared a hot talent for the 2023-24 season.

So hot, in fact, that Yates, who was a prolific goal-getter at Blackpool over the last three seasons, could represent a decent each-way bet in Championship top scorer betting.

Middlesbrough’s Chuba Akpom proved last year that it isn’t always the biggest names at the biggest clubs who can land the cash, and Yates will fancy his chances.

He enjoyed a 14-goal campaign in a poor Blackpool team, finding the net in five of his last six matches.

Playing in a decent Swansea side who finished last season well and will create chances, the 26-year-old should have an even better campaign than last. He’s well worth an each-way nibble at around 40/1.

Leicester Top Midlands Club at 10/11

Hull Top Yorkshire Club at 11/2

If Leicester can’t tempt many backers in the outright market, then they can surely dot up as the top club in the Midlands.

Teams up against the Foxes in the market are West Brom, who were massive disappointments last season; Stoke City, who seem to have found their level; Birmingham, who should improve this season after a takeover, and Coventry, who may well take a backward step.

Leicester should be able to land the honours with ease.

Hull didn’t quite get the returns on their multi-million-pound investment last season but finished off the campaign solidly enough under Liam Rosenior, a talented young coach.

The Turkish owners are unlikely to stop spending, so Hull could improve again and are quite capable of finishing in the top half.

The Tigers also look a decent price in top Yorkshire club betting. The supposition is that Leeds are home and hosed, yet they may find their return to the second tier tougher than many envisage.
