Swansea striker Zan Vipotnik landed the Championship’s Golden Boot last season with 23 goals and he may have a chance to defend that individual honour in the coming campaign.
There is still a chance Vipotnik could depart Swansea despite signing a new deal in March, while Josh Windass of Wrexham is the only other player who finished in the top five scorers still remaining in the division.
Some big names have dropped down and unsurprisingly West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen and Wolves veteran Raul Jimenez are the market leaders. The duo may be best avoided, however, as Bowen is an all-round and at times unselfish forward who also provides goals for his team-mates so the Hammers may be a team who share the goals around. Jimenez is now 35 and may be rested at various stages in his second spell at Molineux.

Cyle Larin (Southampton) each-way @ 22/1 with bet365
Cyle Larin made a big impression at Southampton last season with eight goals in 18 appearances after joining on loan from Mallorca. The Canadian striker has now made a permanent switch to St Mary’s and he could be set for a high-scoring campaign.
There are a few concerns regarding Larin as Southampton have a few players capable of sharing the scoring burden and he hasn’t had a really prolific season since hitting 19 goals for Besiktas in the Super Lig in 2020-21. However, Larin looks a good fit for Saints last term and he’s coming into the new season after a strong World Cup with his country, so he could be ready to hit the ground running.
August Priske (Birmingham) each-way @ 33/1 with bet365
August Priske scored 18 goals in 27 league games for Sweden’s Djurgarden before joining Birmingham in the winter window last season.
The 22-year-old is a towering striker who has all the physical tools to be a success in the Championship, but he initially struggled for form after joining the Blues in the middle of the season.
The Danish forward did break his duck in the final round of fixtures and has a couple of goals in pre-season. Having now had time to settle in at St Andrew’s, this could be a breakthrough season for the imposing frontman and he can make a big impact in the Championship.
