Found A Fifty @ 5/1

Arkle Novices’ Chase – 2.10 Tuesday

Found A Fifty got chinned in the Irish Arkle last month by Il Etait Temps and they meet again now. The latter is one of three Willie Mullins contenders and Paul Townend is sticking with Gaelic Warrior despite his own Dublin Racing Festival implosion. With Matata, Quilixios and even Authorised Speed in the field, Gaelic Warrior may get pressured for the lead and a fast pace might really aid Jack Kennedy and his partner if they can sit off it and come with one strong, late challenge to avenge their Leopardstown defeat.

Minella Indo @ 15/8

Cross Country Chase – 4.10 Wednesday

The conditions of this lark around the nooks and crannies of Prestbury Park have made it a real hunting ground for high-class chasers in the twilight of their careers. Delta Work has won the last two but might meet his match now in Minella Indo. A dual Festival winner, Henry de Bromhead’s 2021 Gold Cup hero ran a blinder in a course and distance trial in December, only denied by a trio that were getting lumps of weight from him. He’ll meet this field on levels and is a class act in this sphere.

Brighterdaysahead @ 11/8

Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle – 4.50 Thursday

It’s going to be another mammoth week for Ireland in all probability and it’s been very hard to escape the hype surrounding Brighterdaysahead, the Gordon Elliott-trained Gigginstown House Stud inmate. She has won two bumpers and three hurdles races now and her efforts this season have been outstanding. She looks a real athletic sort and her proven stamina bodes well for Cheltenham, where she can account for main rival Jade De Grugy for Willie Mullins as she bids to justify Elliott’s claim she might be the best horse he has trained.

Shanagh Bob @ 9/1

Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle – 2.50 Friday

It’s certainly not going to be all about Ireland and perhaps Nicky Henderson can land a blow for the home team in the three-mile Grade 1 novice hurdle just before the Gold Cup. The Seven Barrows supremo saddles unbeaten Shanagh Bob, who won a course and distance trial for this race in December to make it 2-2 under Rules. He’s a big physically imposing sort with a long-term future in staying chases – just like plenty of former winners of this race, including Henderson’s own Bobs Worth, a future Gold Cup winner.
