European Roadtrip: 27/1 acca for Sunday's action
Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.
While we’ve covered most of the weekend’s top games from across Europe in our free match predictions, there’s more value to be found across the continent.
Below is a 27/1 accumulator covering five matches from around Europe. This tip has been priced up with bet365, who have a great offer for new customers.
Back Sunday’s Euro Acca
Villarreal vs Girona
Girona have struggled to match the heights of last season, with their latest defeat coming at Sturm Graz in midweek. They’ve now lost six of their last 10 trips ahead of Sunday’s visit to fourth-placed Villarreal.
The hosts are enjoying a strong campaign, with their only defeats so far coming against Barcelona and Real Madrid. They’ve won three of their six home games and with five wins from their last six meetings with Girona they’re well-placed for another victory this weekend.
Tip: Villarreal to win
Parma vs Lazio
Lazio head into the weekend in fantastic form, having won each of their last five league games to sit within a point of top spot. They’ve won 11 of their previous 13 matches in all competitions, which makes them worth backing at Parma.
The hosts have lost four of their last five home matches and their defensive issues make them worth opposing.
Tip: Lazio to win
Toulouse vs Auxerre
Auxerre are on a roll at the minute, taking 13 points from their previous five games. However, their best work has come at home. On the road Auxerre have been a little too open, with both teams scoring in each of their previous five trips.
Toulouse have scored in each of their last five home matches but they’re not exactly rock solid at the back. The visitors should be buoyed by their good run and get forward, so back both teams to score.
Tip: Both teams to score
Arouca vs Benfica
Benfica produced an impressive win at Monaco to boost their Champions League prospects and they’ve now won 12 of their last 14 games. The Eagles have won five of their previous six away trips, so they’re worthy favourites ahead of this trip to third-bottom Arouca.
The home side have lost three of their previous four at home, but they’ve found the net in four of their previous five starts at home. Given that Benfica are without a clean sheet in their last three trips, back a high-scoring away win.
Tip: Benfica to win and both teams to score
Sporting Gijon vs Cordoba
We finish up in the Spanish second-tier, where Sporting Gijon are a good price to see off Cordoba. The visitors are fourth-bottom, having lost seven of their eight away trips so far. They’ve already been beaten to nil in trips to each of the top three, with fourth-placed Gijon out to follow suit.
The home side have the home record to back them up here, with five wins from six against teams outside the top six. While they’ve had a slight wobble of late, this is a perfect chance to return to winning ways.
Tip: Sporting Gijon to win
