Sheffield United sign Lys Mousset from Bournemouth
Newly promoted Sheffield United have splashed out a club record transfer fee to sign 23 year old Lys Mousset from Bournemouth. The fee is thought to be in excess of £10m, but with Mousset scoring just five goals in 71 appearances for The Cherries it’s unclear what exactly Chris Wilder sees in the player.

De Gea staying put
Speculation surrounding David De Gea is set to end in the near future as the Spanish goalkeeper signs a new long-term deal at Old Trafford. It’s thought that De Gea has been offered up to £375,000 per week to remain a Manchester United player, a salary that would make him the world’s best paid goalkeeper.
He would join the likes of Marcus Rashford, Andreas Pereira, and Axel Tuanzebe, all of whom have signed new deals since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s arrival.
Lukaku stalemate continues
One player who isn’t expected to remain at Old Trafford this summer is Romelu Lukaku, although the transfer negotiations are proving tough for both sides. Inter Milan lodged a £53.9m bid for the Belgian striker, but Manchester United reportedly turned it down as they look to recoup what they paid for the marksman.
That would mean that Inter need to find another £25m to sign the player, but with Antonio Conte regularly singing Lukaku’s praises this latest setback is unlikely to be the end of the story.
Gareth Baling out to China
Yesterday we reported on speculation that Gareth Bale’s career at Real Madrid might be over, and today we’re hearing that his destination could be a little more far-flung than you might expect. Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan have reportedly offered Bale an absurd £1m per week to move to the far East, although it’s unclear whether Bale himself is interested in such a move.
Where else could Bale end up?
Beijing Guoan isn’t the only club interested in Gareth Bale. PSG have reportedly approached Real Madrid to discuss a potential swap deal that would include the wantaway superstar Neymar, while former club Tottenham Hotspur are also thought to be interested.
However, long term pursuers Manchester United have no intention of bringing the Welshman on board.
Harry Maguire heading to Manchester
Manchester United have finally agreed to match Leicester’s valuation of Harry Maguire, and an £80m deal is on the cards for the 26 year old centre back. However, Manchester City are hoping to hijack the deal, but would need to offload Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala to fund the transfer.
North London clubs battle it out for Real Madrid midfielder
Both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been pursuing a loan deal for Real Madrid’s 22 year old midfielder Dani Ceballos in recent weeks, but it looks like the Gunners will win the race to sign the youngster this week as they come to a loan agreement with the Bernabeu club. Ceballos made 34 competitive appearances for Real Madrid last season, scoring three goals.
Crystal Palace transfer siege continues
After losing impressive right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United early on in this transfer window, The Eagles have been in a constant state of fear over their prize asset Wilfried Zaha. The Ivory Coast international reportedly told Palace that he wanted to leave upon returning from the African Cup of Nations, and Bayern Munich are surprise contenders for his signature after missing out on Leroy Sane and Gareth Bale.
That’s not all that Roy Hodgson has to contend with though. Chelsea have come in with a £20m bid for teenage defender Reece James, who spent last season on loan at Wigan and is a hot prospect on the market.
Ukrainian youngster attracting Premier League interest
Dynamo Kiev’s 20 year old Ukraine international Mykola Shaparenko is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs. The young midfielder scored eight goals in 33 competitive appearances for Dynamo Kiev last season, and now looks set for a move to the Premier League. It’s thought that Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and West Ham are all considering an offer for Shaparenko.
Koscielny row nearing its conclusion
Laurent Koscielny, who shocked the Arsenal hierarchy by refusing to take part in their pre-season tour earlier this summer, is finally set to get his wishes. The 33 year old French international is expected to complete a move back to France this summer, and has reportedly agreed a deal with Rennes.
Ademola Lookman transfer close to completion
Everton striker Ademola Lookman is set to have a medical at RB Leipzig in the next 48 hours, with a £22.5m move to the Bundesliga to follow shortly after. The 21 year old has previously spent a loan spell at Leipzig back in the 2017/18 season, scoring five goals in 11 appearances and obviously impressing the club. However, he made 21 league appearances for Everton last season and failed to register a single goal, so £22.5m seems a good deal for The Toffees.
