The new League One season gets underway next weekend, and we’ve picked out a 7/1 contender to finish top of the pile and a 2/1 shot for promotion.

Luton to win League One at 7/1
Lincoln were shock winners of League One last season and there could be another surprise in England’s third tier this time as favourites Leicester are worth taking on.
The value lies with Luton, a team who were in the same back-to-back relegation boat as Leicester last year but are now the antithesis of the Foxes.
The Hatters come into the new season with most of the stars who helped them finish seventh and lift the EFL Trophy last term, and that continuity should serve them well.
The early signs suggest Jack Wilshere will become a top manager and keeping hold of him is a huge boost. The board clearly know that, too, as they have invested in him over the summer.
Experienced playmaker Kasey Palmer bolsters the attacking unit while Harrison Ashby and George Johnston are smart additions to the defence.
Those clever signings join the likes of Kal Naismith and Millenic Alli to create a talented squad and with Wilshere at the helm, top spot is not out of reach for a team who finished third on expected points last season.

Sheffield Wednesday to be promoted at 2/1
Alongside Luton, one team stands above the rest in the promotion betting and it is a side who looked set to be battling at the other end of the table until just a couple of months ago – Sheffield Wednesday.
Transfer sanctions and looming points deductions meant Owls were nailed-on for relegation to League One before a ball was even kicked last term and a miserable season unfolded, with Henrik Pedersen’s side picking up just two wins.
Amazingly, things are suddenly looking up for Wednesday, whose new owners have cleared most of the debt to shake off a potential 15-point deduction and wasted no time in showing their ambition.
The Owls marquee signing is former Aston Villa wonderkid Louie Barry, who has lit up the EFL in numerous loan spells over the past few seasons, but they aren’t just splashing the cash they have yearned for in recent years, also bringing in Billy Mitchell, Callum Slattery and Ricardo Santos to bolster the ranks.
Club legend Barry Bannan has also returned from a short spell with Millwall, underlining the newfound feel-good factor at Hillsborough, and a promotion push is well within reach.
Spearheaded by the ever-dangerous Barry, there is every chance Wednesday finish in the top two. Though, with League One looking a trappy heat, backing them to be promoted gives some added insurance should they have to battle through the playoffs.
