League Two 2026/27 outright predictions with 5/1 & 11/1 Tips

The new League Two season gets underway next weekend, and Aaron Ashley has selected 5/1 and 11/1 outright tips ahead of the campaign.

Salford to win League Two at 5/1

Bromley pipped MK Dons by a point to claim last season’s League Two title with Cambridge promoted in third, and the fourth-placed finishers Salford may be the team the rest have to aim towards in the 2026-27 campaign.

Salford suffered playoff final heartbreak, falling to an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Notts County at Wembley and manager Karl Robinson was sacked nine days on from that.

The Ammies have long had ambitions of reaching League One and going above, and last season’s fourth-placed finish was their best campaign to date as a club, an improvement on coming eighth and only narrowly missing out on a playoff position the year before.

Acquired by an ownership group led by David Beckham and Gary Neville, Salford will feel that seven seasons in League Two after their rapid rise has halted progress and they have put foundations in place to challenge for the title this time around.

The appointment of Australian Peter Cklamovski is an exciting proposition as he was the Malaysian head coach and he has worked closely with Ange Postecoglou in the Australia set-up, helping the Socceroos win the 2015 AFC Asian Cup and compete on the world stage.

He arrives with a reputation for attack-minded football, willing to play on the front foot, and has strong development skills, something which could propel this team to the next level.

A few have departed but the addition of striker Macaulay Langstaff from Millwall is one of the eye-catching signings of the summer.

Langstaff was used mainly from the bench in the Championship for the Lions last season, scoring only four goals in 37 appearances, but he was prolific when the main man at Notts County, netting 28 goals in 46 games in League Two in 2023-24.

That came on the back of a 42-goal campaign in the National League and he is a natural finisher, while tricky winger Abraham Odoh should thrive in the fourth tier following his arrival from Peterborough.

Joe Powell from Rotherham and Will Aimson from Wigan provide experience to the spine and plenty of quality has remained from last season.

Port Vale each-way at 11/1

Of the four that were relegated from League One last season, Port Vale could be the best of the quartet.

The writing was on the wall for the Valiants for much of the season but Brady inspired his team to a run to the FA Cup quarter-final and oversaw wins over Bolton, Peterborough and Stockport from March onwards.

Brady guided Northampton to promotion from League Two in the 2022–23 season and Vale have done some excellent early business, with striker Max Watters arriving from Cardiff the pick of the bunch.

Kyle Dempsey has joined from Bolton to add creativity to the midfield while Jackson Smith was one of the best goalkeepers in League Two last term at Grimsby.

George Byers, Ben Waine, Jayden Stockley and Ben Garrity are experienced members of the squad that remain and early evidence suggests that they have done a fine job in reshaping the squad.
