Weekly Top 10: Best bets for the week & 530/1 acca

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

The next seven days could be one of the busiest weeks of the football season. The Champions League returns this week, with 18 matches spread across three nights.

However, European action has to share the stage with matches from the Carabao Cup and the EFL, which all lead into another packed weekend of action.

I’ve picked through the week’s fixtures to pick out 10 bets, which combine for a massive 532/1 accumulator.

Over 2.5 goals in Club Brugge vs Aston Villa (Tuesday, 5:45pm)

Aston Villa are yet to score in the Premier League, but Tuesday’s clash with Club Brugge should offer them plenty of chances. The Villains recorded 1.93 xG in Saturday’s draw with Hull, and they cross paths with an open Brugge side.

The Belgian outfit saw over 2.5 goals in all 10 of their matches in the Champions League last term. They scored three or more in four of their five home matches, including 3-3 draws with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, so over 2.5 goals appeals.

Borussia Dortmund to beat Villarreal (Tuesday, 8pm)

Villarreal have failed to win any of their opening four La Liga games, and they face a difficult trip to Dortmund on Tuesday night.

The Yellow Submarine fell 3-2 at home to promoted Deportivo on Saturday, and they were beaten 4-0 at Dortmund in last season’s League Phase. The Spanish side were beaten in seven of their eight Champions League fixtures last term, and they look set to start with another defeat.

Barcelona to win and BTTS vs Feyenoord (Wednesday, 5:45pm)

While the signing of Rodri should ensure that Barcelona avoid another chaotic Champions League exit this season, the World Cup winner isn’t available for Wednesday’s clash with Feyenoord.

The Dutch giants are heavy underdogs after losing six straight away games in Europe, but they’ve made a high-scoring start domestically. The Rotterdam side have scored 13 times in their opening five Eredivisie games, and they can prey on Barca’s vulnerable backline to find the net in a defeat.

Sporting Lisbon to beat Galatasaray (Wednesday, 8pm)

Sporting won their first five home matches in the Champions League last season, which helped them to reach the quarter-finals.

Galatasaray’s European run came in spite of their poor away record, which saw them lose five of their six trips. They were beaten heavily in visits to Eintracht Frankfurt and Liverpool, and they look set to struggle in Lisbon.

Como to beat RB Leipzig (Thursday, 8pm)

Como make their European debut on Thursday, and Cesc Fabregas’s side can make a winning start when they host RB Leipzig.

The Italian side impressed on their way to a top four finish in Serie A, and they’ve secured wins at Napoli and Genoa in their last two matches.

Leipzig fell to a defeat against Werder Bremen at the weekend, and this ambitious Como side can build on some impressive early displays.

Both teams to score in Estrela vs Braga (Thursday, 8:15pm)

Estrela’s first four games of the season have featured three 2-2 draws and a 3-2 victory at Nacional. They can expect the goals to continue against Braga this week, as these sides shared 2-2 and 3-3 draws last season.

Braga won 2-1 at Alverca at the weekend, and they’re capable of troubling an Estrela side that has given up a lot of chances this season.

AZ Alkmaar to win and over 3.5 goals vs Willem II (Friday, 7pm)

AZ Alkmaar have the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Eredivisie on Friday night, after winning all five games this season.

They’ve scored 16 goals across their five victories, and they host a Willem II side who have suffered three defeats from four. Each of those defeats have come by a three-goal margin, and AZ can ease to another high-scoring win.

Both teams to score in Chelsea vs Hull (Saturday, 3pm)

Chelsea’s wait for a Premier League clean sheet continues, and the Blues have conceded twice in all three of their league games under Xabi Alonso.

Saturday should see the Blues win the possession battle for the first time this season, but Hull are set up to threaten on the counter.

Only five Premier League teams have conceded more shots on target than Chelsea this term, so back both teams to score at Stamford Bridge.

Both teams to score in Sassuolo vs Juventus (Sunday, 7:45pm)

Last weekend’s 1-1 draw with AC Milan exposed some of Juve’s weaknesses, and now they head to a Sassuolo side who have been a real standout so far this season.

The Neroverdi were minutes away from claiming a win at Bologna in their last game, before conceding a late leveller in a 2-2 draw. Both teams have scored in their last four matches across all competitions, and they’re creating plenty of chances.

Only Roma have registered more shots on target than Sassuolo across the first three matches, but they still can’t be trusted defensively.

PSG -1 handicap at Brest (Sunday, 7:45pm)

PSG’s rough start to the season continued last week, as they fell to a 2-1 home defeat to Monaco. The European champions are yet to win through three Ligue 1 matches, while they lost to Lens in the French Super Cup.

However, this weekend’s visit to Brest should be the perfect chance for PSG to bounce back. They’ve won 22 of the previous 24 meetings between the sides. Since February 2025, they’ve claimed two 3-0 wins and a 5-2 victory at Brest.
