Tip Reasoning

  • Aberdeen have taken seven points from the last possible nine while Hibs have taken just three points from nine in that period.
  • Aberdeen’s 2-1 win at Livingston on May 1 was only the second time the Dons have scored more than one goal in a Premiership match in 2021.
  • Hibernian have not beaten a top six side away from home since August.
  • Hibernian have not won on any of their last nine visits to Pittodrie, losing six and drawing three.

Goalshy Dons to fall short at Pittodrie

The Dons’ 2-1 defeat of Livingston earlier this month cut the gap on third-placed Hibs to three points with two games remaining in the season.

That win also confirmed qualification for the newly-formed Uefa Conference League at the second qualifying round next season.

But third place offers an extra £250,000 in SPFL prize payments than a fourth-place finish so Stephen Glass’ men have the incentive to maintain their momentum here.

But they could come up just short of getting the win they need against a stubborn Hibs side on Wednesday.

Managing only nine in their last 17 Premiership games, scoring goals has been a problem for the Dons all season.

They have been working on this issue, but only Rangers boast a better defensive record away from home than their opponents from Edinburgh so getting all three points on Wednesday could prove a step too far.
