ADO Den Haag vs Feyenoord Predictions

Eight places and sixteen points separate mid table Den Haag and their guests on Sunday, third placed Feyenoord. The hosts cruised to a 3-0 victory and leapfrogged Willem II last weekend, while Feyenoord suffered a shock home defeat in the league, but recovered to progress through to the next round of the KNVB Beker at the expense of Utrecht.

A ninth minute strike from Falkenburg saw Den Haag take the lead at the Koning Willem II Stadion in Tilburg, and proved to be enough to separate the two clubs at the half time interval. Immers added a second goal for the visitors just after the hour mark against the run of play and then ended any hopes of a comeback for Willem II with his second goal of the game in the seventy-seventh minute. Willem II ended the game with 57% of the possession, twice as many corners, and three times as many shots as their guests, but the only statistic that mattered is always the final score and Den Haag claimed an impressive 3-0 win.

Feyenoord controlled the majority of their KNVB Beker tie against Utrecht on Thursday night, with 65% of the possession, more corners, and over double the amount of shots during the ninety minutes. However, the game was settled by one goal in the twenty-seventh minute from Vilhena, which saw Feyenoord deservedly progress through to the next round of the KNVB Beker. That cup win proved the perfect tonic following a shock 2-0 home defeat to newly promoted Fortuna Sittard, and Feyenoord will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Eredivisie against Den Haag on Sunday.

Feyenoord played host to Den Haag in the KNVB Beker in November, where the home side ran out convincing 5-1 winners. El Khayati gave Den Haag the lead, but it proved to be a false dawn for the visitors as Jørgensen claimed the match ball with a hat trick, Botteghin and Larsson helped themselves to a goal each and Feyenoord dominated the match with 65% of the possession and limited Den Haag to just one more shot on target during the ninety minutes.

With five wins and one defeat from their last six matches, Feyenoord head into Sunday’s game as the clear form favourites. Den Haag have won twice, drawn once, and lost three times during that same period, but are unbeaten in their last two Eredivisie games. El Khayati has been in great form for the hosts and already has ten league goals to his name this season, while veteran forward van Persie top scores for the visitors with seven league goals.

We’re confident that Feyenoord will win to nil this weekend, and that the final scoreline will end 2-0. Feyenoord have won five of their last six encounters with Den Haag in league, cup, and friendlies, and the visitors have kept three clean sheets. Den Haag have failed to score in three of their last six matches in all competitions, while Feyenoord have won five of their last six matches in all competitions and kept two clean sheets in the process.
