Alaves in serious trouble

Alaves are in all kinds of bother, with a run of five successive defeats leaving them bottom of La Liga and seven points from safety, but this could be the game where they arrest such a dreadful slump.

Their form at home is actually not too bad, suffering just two defeats in their last seven at the Mendizorroza, and one of those was at the hands of Barcelona.

Four of those matches have ended as draws, while Julio Velázquez’s side have suffered just two home losses to sides lower in the table than Rayo Vallecano.

Rayo Vallecano are another team on a seriously poor run and they head into this fixture without a win in twelve league games, eight of which have ended in defeat.

Andoni Iraola’s side are not yet safe from relegation, sitting merely six points above the bottom three, but three of their last four outings have ended as draws.

They remain terrible on the road though, winning just once in fourteen attempts and losing ten times, though two of those stalemates came against struggling Levante and Granada.

It is very hard to split these two teams, so I think it could end as a draw, with 1-1 my correct score prediction.
