Arsenal vs Stoke Predictions
Arsenal are enjoying a very promising first half to the season at the moment, and it got even better in midweek. A Lucas Perez hat trick helped them to a 4-1 thrashing of Basel away from home, and with PSG dropping points against Ludogorets it meant that they snatched the top spot from the Ligue 1 champions.
This came after a 5-1 hammering of West Ham at the weekend and made it 15 wins, six draws, and just two defeats from their 23 competitive games this season. This, along with securing them the group win in the Champions League, leaves them 2nd in the Premier League and just three points off Chelsea at the top.
Lucas Perez may have been the hero on Tuesday night, but it’s Alexis Sanchez who is stealing the headlines in the Premier League. The Chilean forward, who has been deployed as the central striker more and more frequently recently, netted a hat trick last weekend to take his Premier League goals tally to 11 in 14 appearances this season. The 27 year old is in fine form at the moment and looks the obvious choice for our anytime goalscorer predictions.
Arsenal did suffer Premier League defeat on the opening day of the season, but they haven’t lost a league game since. Stoke’s disappointing start to the campaign was much more prolonged as they picked up just one point from their opening five games.
Things have been looking up for the Potters recently though, and they come into this match having won five, drawn three, and lost just one of their last nine outings in the Premier League. This has lifted them up to 9th in the table.
Stoke’s recent away form has been commendable, but they haven’t had to face a side as threatening as Arsenal yet. They managed a draw at Old Trafford but Manchester United have been out of sorts all season, whilst more recent results have seen them take points from Hull, West Ham, and Watford.
Arsenal have won four and drawn two of their last six home games in the Premier League, scoring 12 goals and conceding five at the other end. I fully expect Arsenal to get the win on Saturday. However, Arsenal have conceded in each of their last nine matches in all competitions and are facing a Stoke side who have scored in all but one of their away days this season. Backing an Arsenal Win and Both Teams to Score at 6/4 looks a good option, and I’m going for a 3-1 correct score predictions at 11/1 as well.
