Athletic Bilbao vs Sevilla Betting Tips & Predictions

Sevilla have had an odd season and remarkably they go into their final game without a league away win to their name. They have won at San Mames in the Europa League though and do still have two cup finals to look forward to next week. A weakened Sevilla side was beaten 4-1 at home by Granada last weekend and they will finish in 7th place regardless of the result here so there is absolutely nothing at stake for them. Therefore we can again expect them to rest all their senior stars with cup dates against Liverpool and Barcelona in mind and for that reason Athletic Bilbao are very strong favourites to win this.

Athletic are one place higher up in 6th but have their eyes firmly on 5th place which they will secure if they win this and Celta Vigo fail to win at the Vicente Calderon. The advantage would be a place in the group stage of the Europa League next season rather than the qualifying rounds and a longer summer holiday for Ernesto Valverde’s men. Athletic’s form has been mixed over the past few months but they are unbeaten in 3 games coming into this and appear to be benefiting from no longer participating in the cups.
