Bayern Munich vs Arsenal Predictions
- Over 2.5 goals has landed in seven of Bayern Munich’s last ten games.
- Bayern Munich have won 14 of their 19 home games this season.
- Harry Kane has scored 15 goals in 20 games against Arsenal.
Gunners season hanging by a thread
Arsenal saw their Premier League aspirations take a huge hit at the weekend and they could be dealt another terminal blow when they make the trip to Munich on Wednesday.
The Gunners lost 2-0 at home to Aston Villa to fall two points behind Manchester City, with the only consolation being Liverpool’s earlier defeat to Crystal Palace. This followed on from a 2-2 draw at home to Bayern Munich, and the German side could assert their dominance back at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.
Last chance of silverware for Die Bayern
The Bavarians relinquished the Bundesliga title for the first time in 12 years on Sunday as Bayer Leverkusen sealed the league with a 5-0 demolition of Werder Bremen, although there is the very faintest glimmer of a silver lining in that it allows them to focus all their attention on the Champions League.
Bayern’s standards may have slipped this season, but they remain a force to be reckoned with in Munich and welcome Arsenal to a ground they have won 15, drawn two and lost two of their 19 competitive matches this season, so Mikel Arteta’s side could be in trouble after winning just two of their last five outings.
Kane to get among the goals
Whatever the scoreline, we can expect goals on Wednesday night. Seven of Bayern Munich’s last ten games and four of their last six at home have featured at least three goals, while each of their last four meetings with Arsenal have gone over 2.5 goals, including their 2-2 draw last week.
Backing over 2.5 goals, along with a 2-1 win for the hosts, appeals after seeing Arsenal ship exactly two goals in each of their last two matches.
Yet again, Harry Kane stands out as the obvious choice in the anytime goalscorer market. He scored his 15th goal in 20 appearances against Arsenal last week and now has 39 goals in 39 competitive outings for Bayern Munich.
