Feyenoord vs FC Porto Predictions
Feyenoord ended their three-game run without a win at the weekend when they thrashed Twente 5-1 in Rotterdam but face a tricky test in Europe on Thursday. Porto secured another victory at the weekend as they beat Rio Ave 1-0 and in the process earned their three clean sheet on the run.
All of the stats point towards an away win for Porto on Thursday and we’ve backed a final scoreline of 1-0 in favour of the Portuguese visitors.
These two teams have never met before despite both having a long history in European competition and we’re expecting a close and competitive ninety minutes between the pair. The form of the hosts hasn’t been great in recent weeks with Feyenoord losing two of their last four matches in all competitions, while Porto have won their last six matches in league and cup, and that’s one of the main reasons we’re backing the visitors to win on Thursday.
The performances of both clubs during the last month or so also adds weight o our prediction of a 1-0 final scoreline on Thursday, as Feyenoord failed to score in each of their last two defeats, while Porto have kept four clean sheets in their last six matches. The visitors’ last two wins have been ended 1-0 and four of their last six matches have been settled by the odd goal, while three of Feyenoord’s last six matches have also been decided by a one-goal margin.
Feyenoord lost their last Europa League game 1-0 against Rangers, while Porto won their opening game 2-1 against Young Boys, and these polar opposite starts to the group stage coincide with the form of both clubs in recent weeks and allow you to see just why we fancy Porto to claim all three points on Thursday.
We’re confident that Porto will win on Thursday and have predicted a final scoreline of 1-0. The visitors arrive as the clear form favourites and with a great record of clean sheets and narrow victories over the last month or so, while Feyenoord haven’t been playing consistently of late and have twice failed to score in their last four outings.
