Bayern on cusp of title

Bayern Munich could win the Bundesliga title this weekend if they beat Mainz and Bayer Leverkusen slip up, and they can at least fulfil their side of the bargain.

The Bavarian giants have an eight-point lead at the top with just four games so play and they are facing a side on a five-game winless run.

Bayern ended a three-game run without a victory of their own by thumping Heidenheim 4-0 last time out, while Mainz have lost back-to-back road games.

Unsurprisingly, Bayern are the huge favourites to win so the best value play could be backing a home win with goals at both ends.

Mainz may be winless in five but they’ve only failed to score in one of those fixtures and stretching back further they have scored in eight of their last nine. Mainz have also scored in each of their last 11 league meetings with Bayern and in their last five trips to the Allianz Arena, despite losing all of those games in Munich.

Bayern have scored at least four goals in six of their home Bundesliga games this season and they won 4-0 at Mainz in the DfB Pokal earlier this season, so a 4-1 win for the hosts has a chance here.

Harry Kane is the division’s leading scorer with 24 goals and he comes into this game in good form after scoring in back-to-back games, and he can add to his haul on Saturday.
