      Benfica vs RB Leipzig Predictions

A draw with Bayern Munich kept RB Leipzig out in front as leaders of the Bundesliga this weekend. They have 10 points from four games as they switch attention to continental affairs. Leipzig make the tricky visit to a Benfica side who have seen better days, with the hosts already losing a major clash this season

Benfica’s title chances took a hit in their 2-0 home defeat to Porto earlier this season. Losing their heated battles can be the difference between winning the league and missing out. Meanwhile, recent seasons have been tough for Benfica in Europe. Outside of qualifiers, the Portuguese giants have lost 10 of their last 13 UCL ties, which is why they are outsiders even at home.

Leipzig are an emerging force, having leapt into the Champions League a couple of seasons ago. New boss Julian Nagelsmann is one of the hottest properties in management, with the former Hoffenheim boss now looking to take a step forward on the continent. He has done well at his new club with four wins in five across all competitions, but will he make a winning return to European football?

The visitors have proven themselves to be capable already this season. Their 1-1 draw with Bayern followed an impressive 3-1 win at Gladbach, which was proof of their ability on the road. We can see another away victory for Nagelsmann, who will view this clash as an opportunity. They’ve landed a favourable draw with Lyon and Zenit to come, so the Bundesliga side are arguably group favourites.

With Benfica in terrible form in the Champions League, we think that they will struggle on Tuesday. They’ve won only two of their last eight home games in this competition, while they have lost to the likes of Napoli, Basel, CSKA and Man United here over the last three years. We can see Leipzig joining that list.

The visitors are worthy favourites when you consider Benfica’s record in Europe. Meanwhile, Leipzig are on a solid run coming into this clash with four wins in five matches. We are backing them to claim another victory, with the Bundesliga side looking like good value here on the Draw No Bet market.

We are also backing Leipzig to claim a 2-1 victory, with over 2.5 goals landing in three of their four games so far this season.
