Birmingham vs Barnsley Predictions

Two sides in extremely poor form

Christmas and New Year have brought everything but joy for Birmingham City as they’ve not managed a single win across their last six Championship matches, most recently getting hammered 6-2 by champions-elect Fulham. Of those six games, the Blues conceded the first goal in five of them and so coming flying out of the blocks and getting on the scoresheet will be the incentive here against rock-bottom Barnsley.

For the visitors, it looks like it’ll be only a matter of time before fall through the trap door into League One. They managed to secure an FA Cup victory against Barrow in their last outing which should provide them with a small confidence boost, they also have a couple of games in hand on some sides above them and they’ll be eager to get a league win under their belts for the first time since the beginning of November.

A flurry of goals not likely

We do think the hosts will claim victory but we’re favouring a game of few goals here as Barnsley look to keep things tight. This fixture rarely sees a high number of goals and given both sides will be desperate to avoid defeat, we believe the unders is the way to go.
