Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Bradford have seen both teams score in five of their last six regular-season League Two home games, while Grimsby have notched in each of their last five in the league. The hosts conceded a goal per game at home last term and the visitors have gone seven trips without a clean sheet, so back BTTS.

Draw 2-2

Reason for tip

Bradford drew 10 times at home last term, while they scored twice or more in 48% of their matches at this ground. Grimsby are in good form and fresh off their best display of the campaign they can score a couple in a goal-filled draw.

Bradford vs Grimsby Town Predictions

  • Grimsby have scored in each of their last five League Two games
  • However, the visitors have gone seven away trips in the league without a clean sheet
  • Bradford have seen BTTS land in five of their last six regular season home games

Bradford make slow start

After falling short in the playoffs last term, Bradford have made a slow start in a season where they really can’t afford many slip ups. Given the competition at the top of the League Two table, Mark Hughes may rue the Bantams’ failure to get into League One back in May.

With plenty of strong sides going for promotion, it’s a concern that the hosts have won just two of their opening six games without facing many of the genuine contenders. While they will see a return home as an opportunity to kick-start the season, last term’s poor home record and Grimsby’s recent displays are a concern.

Visitors to make their mark

Since losing 3-2 to current League Two leaders Notts County, Grimsby have been in excellent form in the league. They’re unbeaten in four, producing their best display of the season in last weekend’s 2-0 win over Gillingham.

The visitors have scored in each of their last five League Two games, although they have gone seven matches without a clean sheet on the road.

Excluding playoffs, five of Bradford’s last six at home have seen both teams score. The Bantams had a better record on their travels than at home last term, conceding a goal per game at their own ground while drawing 10 times. As a result, back both sides to net alongside a 2-2 draw with Grimsby going up a gear over the last few weeks.
