Brazil vs Haiti Betting Tips & Predictions

Brazil’s flaws were on show in all their glory in their Copa America opening match against Ecuador. They were solid at the back, as they have so often been in recent years, but going forward they offered next to nothing. Jonas was completely ineffectual as the lone striker and Willian struggled to stamp his influence on the game from the right wing position. They will need to afford him more creativity if they are to make a run for the Copa America this year. They were lucky to escape with a point as well after Ecuador had a sensational goal disallowed in the second half after the linesman incorrectly adjudged the ball to have gone out of play before the shot.

This goalless draw with Ecuador was their 4th draw in their last six games, and although they are unbeaten in seven matches now they have only won three of them. This puts them down in 6th position in their World Cup Qualifying campaign, already four points adrift of leaders Uruguay.

Haiti really shouldn’t be causing them many problems though. They were a surprising inclusion in the tournament after pipping Trinidad & Tobago to the post in the playoffs, but that playoff win is their only victory in their last seven games.

They have lost five of these matches and most recently were defeated 1-0 by Peru in their opening Copa America game. This is by no means an embarrassing result, but they offered little in the way of attacking options and never looked likely to get a win.

Brazil should easily be able to keep a clean sheet against Haiti, and I expect even their limited attacking resources to be able to grab a goal or two against a Haiti side who look determined but lacking in talent.

Haiti have failed to score in five of their last seven matches now, and I can’t see them getting past the Brazil back line either. This makes odds of 8/13 for Brazil to Win to Nil look attractive, so I’m backing that along with a 2-0 correct score prediction at 9/2.
