Bees primed to return to winning ways

Dominic Calvert-Lewin denied Brentford a third successive win to start the season last week, but they can get back to winning ways at home to Sunderland on Saturday.

The Bees were emphatic in their opener against Tottenham before putting Birmingham to the sword in a midweek EFL Cup clash, and they hammered Sunderland 3-0 when they met here in January.

The Black Cats fully deserved their narrow win over Fulham last weekend, but they were poor away to Ipswich in their opener and did struggle on the road last season.

They scored just 17 goals in 19 away games and eight of their 12 defeats came on their travels.

Collins can threaten from the back

After scoring ten goals in three games, Brentford look a solid bet to take the points on Saturday, and another three-goal haul could be on the cards. They have averaged 3.33 goals per game this season and opened with a 3-0 triumph over Spurs. They won by the same scoreline against Sunderland in January but, with a goal conceded in their last two games and Sunderland scoring exactly once in both fixtures so far, a 3-1 correct score prediction may be a better bet.

Nathan Collins has emerged as a surprising anytime goalscorer candidate. He scored a brace against Birmingham City and this was far from unexpected. The centre-back has had a Brentford-high nine shots on goal this season and has hit the target four times in his last two games.
