Stade Brestois 89 v SCO Angers predictions for this Ligue 1 match. The hosts battled back to snatch a point in Nice last week but can they continue that fight and desire into this match? Read on for our free Ligue 1 predictions and betting tips.

Brest To Win To Nil @ 10/3

We use stars to rate our confidence in our tips, with 3 being most confident to 1 being the least.
Brest 1-0 @ 7/1

Reason For Brest vs Angers Predictions

  • Angers are drawn with 17th place Dijon for the least goals scored away from home this season.
  • Le SCO also enter this match with five defeats in their last six and no goals scored in their last three on the road.
  • Brest have netted 21 goals in their 13 home matches this season, the 7th best tally in the league, and are now of just three teams to have lost just the one game at home.

Brest Love Playing In Front Of Their Own Fans

Brest seemed dead and buried last week as they approached half-time 2-0 down in Nice. However, Samuel Grandsir’s goal just before the whistle called time on the first half sparked this Brest side back into life and they managed to score again in the second 45, earning a point in a very formidable stadium.

It’ll be a welcome result for manager Olivier Dall’Oglio as they are now at arm’s length from the relegation battle and more focussing their sights on a top half finish. They’ll be aided here by their tremendous home support that has carried them over the line on so many occasions this season.

Despite it being les Ty’Zefs’ first season back in the top flight, they are one of only three teams to have lost just the one game at home in the league this season, alongside heavyweights PSG and Marseille. The Stade Francis-le-Blé has seen them win four and draw two of their last six games there and if they can keep up their fine attacking flair, they’ll be in with a good chance here. Brest have scored 21 goals in 13 home games this season, the 7th best tally in the league.

Angers Lacking Threat Up Front

Angers have a real challenge on their hands here as they travel to Brest and their very solid stadium. Angers also won’t be helped by the fact that they’ve lost five of their last six games in all competitions. However, Stéphane Moulin’s men did manage to stop the rot last week with a victory over Montpellier. It wasn’t a great game but le SCO absolutely deserved the win and it’ll be the type of performance they’ll be eager to recreate here.

Angers will be the away side for this one though and their form on the road has been less than desirable this season. They’ve picked up just nine of a possible 36 points away from home in Ligue 1 with their two wins coming against Nantes in the derby and bottom club Toulouse. Angers are level with 17th place Dijon for the least goals scored away from home and with none netted in their last three attempts, it could get dicey as they travel to Brittany.

The Hosts To Hold Strong Here?

Brest have conceded just two non-penalty goals in their last six home games so we’re expecting them to keep it tight in this match against an Angers side finding it difficult to score on the road. Brest won 1-0 when these teams last met in October and we’re backing the same scoreline here. This is the scoreline that Angers have lost their last two away games by.
