Brest vs Bayer Leverkusen Predictions
- Brest’s four home wins this season have come against bottom-five Ligue 1 sides and a weak Sturm Graz
- Bayer Leverkusen are unbeaten on their travels this season, winning four games and drawing 1-1 with Bayern Munich their other away match
- The German side have also won to nil in their two Champions League matches this season
Brest’s brilliant start set to come to an end
Brest have made an excellent start to their first foray into European football, winning their opening two Champions League games by an aggregate score of 6-1.
However, the heat is about to turn up a notch as they take on last season’s unbeaten Bundesliga champions and Europa League runners-up Bayer Leverkusen.
The German outfit have been less dominant this term but still head into this game as worthy favourites and should see off their hosts in an exciting affair.
Leverkusen likely to take an early lead
A glance at Brest’s home form will have punters thinking their odds of around 11/2 are generous. However, a deeper dive into the stats show why their price is so high.
Brest have won four of their six home games this term, but those victories have come against Le Havre, Toulouse and St Etienne – three sides in the bottom five in Ligue 1 – and a weak Sturm Graz side.
The French outfit were thrashed 5-1 by Marseille at home in August and it would be no surprise to see an extremely strong Bayer Leverkusen, who have won four of their five away games this season – drawing with Bayern Munich in the other – and kept a clean sheet while winning their two Champions League matches, dominate from start to finish in Brest.
