Bristol City vs Portsmouth Predictions
- Bristol City have lost six of their last nine matches
- Portsmouth have lost only one of their last ten games
- Portsmouth have kept five consecutive clean sheets
Pompey can spring a surprise on Robins
Bristol City are going through a tough time in the Championship at present and their woes may be extended with an FA Cup third-round exit at the hands of League One highfliers Portsmouth.
The Robins have lost four of their last five league games, with their only win coming courtesy of a 2-1 victory at home to Championship basement boys Wycombe.
Injuries are not helping their cause but the goals have dried up considerably and they have scored just four times in their last seven games, failing to net on four occasions.
Dean Holden’s side are not living up to their lofty league position and look vulnerable at home to Portsmouth, who are well on course to join City in the Championship next season.
Confidence is soaring at Fratton Park as Pompey have risen up to third in League One having suffered just one defeat in 11.
Kenny Jackett’s side have kept five consecutive clean sheets, which includes against fellow League One highfliers Peterborough, Ipswich, Fleetwood and Hull.
Pompey reached the fifth round of the FA Cup last season, where they bumped into eventual winners Arsenal, while Bristol City fell at this stage to Shrewsbury.
The visitors have won three of their last four games 2-0 and we predict them to repeat the trick at Ashton Gate, where Bristol City have failed to score in three of their last five games.
