Tip Reasoning
- Under 2.5 goals have been scored in Bristol City’s last five Championship games.
- There have also been less than 2.5 goals netted in eight of City’s ten home matches this term.
- Under 2.5 goals have been scored in 13 of Wycombe’s 20 league starts this season.
- The visitors have lost seven of their ten away starts this season.
Goals Unlikely to Flow at Ashton Gate
After four defeats from five, punters are advised to focus on the goal markets for this Saturday’s fixture at Ashton Gate as opposed to backing hosts Bristol City at odds-on.
This looks the perfect fixture on paper for the ninth-placed Robins to bounce back considering Wycombe are bottom of the table and without a win in ten, however the Chairboys have earned draws in five of those matches so it makes little sense to side with Dean Holden’s men at the prices available.
Under 2.5 goals is available at similar odds and that looks a far more viable punting option, based on several stats which point towards this being a low scoring contest.
Bristol have failed to net in four of their last five outings which have all produced under 2.5 goals, while eight of their ten starts at Ashton Gate this term have also seen less than 2.5 goals scored.
Only seven of City’s 20 games overall this season have generated over 2.5 goals with the same applying to Wycombe, so backing under 2.5 is the recommendation for this Boxing Day clash.
The likelihood is that the hosts can scrap out a victory, and with Wycombe losing seven of their ten away starts this term, we’re also forecasting a 1-0 correct score.
