Burnley vs Fulham Predictions
- Both teams have scored in four of Burnley’s last seven Premier League home matches.
- Both teams have notched in three of Fulham’s last five away assignments.
- Fulham have lost just two of their last nine Premier League away games.
- The Cottagers have drawn four times in their last five matches on the road.
Chance for Burnley to pull clear
Burnley gave their survival hopes a massive shot in the arm with a 3-0 triumph at Crystal Palace in their last test, and the Clarets could widen the buffer between themselves and the drop zone with a follow up victory against Fulham.
Sean Dyche’s charges rampaged their way to another 3-0 win when they last faced the Cottagers, though that January FA Cup clash between two much-changed teams should have little baring on the outcome of Wednesday’s rematch.
Burnley will face a stronger and more confident Fulham outfit at Turf Moor, where Scott Parker’s improving side look ready to go toe-to-toe with their hosts.
Fulham topple Toffees
Third from bottom Fulham warmed up for their trip to Lancashire with a superb display at Goodison Park against a shellshocked Everton.
Two second half strikes from Josh Maja fired Fulham to a deserved 2-0 triumph over the Toffees, pushing the Cottagers’ unbeaten surge on the road to five Premier League assignments in the process.
Goals at both ends likely
Fulham will land at Turf Moor with a real kick in their step after their excellent performance against Everton, and the slick-passing Cottagers should be able to land a blow against a Burnley team that kept just two clean sheets in their last eight top flight tussles.
Manchester giants City and United are the only clubs to have shutout Burnley on their own patch since October however, and the Clarets’ set-piece threat and physicality in the final third should allow them to impact the scoresheet again.
Backing both teams to score on Wednesday looks a savvy ploy then, though our 1-1 correct score prediction tips Fulham to eventually pick up more points on the road.
Scott Parker’s charges were conquered just twice in their last nine league fixtures away from Craven Cottage, and having drawn four of their last five on their travels, another share of the spoils looks possible against a dogged Burnley side.
Burnley injuries and team news
Ben Mee will miss out for Burnley after he suffered a nasty heady injury against Crystal Palace, and Kevin Long is expected to replace him.
Striker With Chris Wood and fullback Charlie Taylor remain doubtful.
Fulham injuries and team news
Centre-half Terence Kongolo was fit enough to make the bench against Everton leaving Tom Cairney as the Cottagers’ only injury concern.
Two-goal hero Josh Maja is expected to keep his place up front after his superb showing at Everton.
