Reason For Burnley vs Fulham Predictions

  • Fulham have won just twice in their 15 Premier League games so far this season
  • Burnley have gone 30 games unbeaten at home to Fulham (W25 D5)
  • The Clarets have won three of their last four at home
  • The Cottagers have conceded in all of their away games so far

Vital clash for Fulham

Having made strides in recent weeks, Fulham come into this clash facing a make-or-break encounter in their fight to beat the drop. There are few contenders to slip into the bottom three, to the Cottagers need a result against Burnley.

However, the hosts have been given a boost with the news that they’re closing in on new owners and potentially some much-needed January signings. We’re backing more good news for Burnley in our predictions here.

Cottagers short on wins

Fulham were rank outsiders in their postponed clash with Tottenham in midweek, so they were unlikely to pick up a crucial three-points in that one. The Cottagers may have drawn their last four matches, but they’ve won just twice in 15 games so far.

They’ve won only once in seven away games, losing four. That doesn’t suggest they can turn around their long history of poor results at this ground. Burnley are unbeaten in their last 30 home meetings with Fulham in all competitions (W25 D5), their longest ever unbeaten run against an opponent at Turf Moor in their history.

Burnley back in form

Burnley made a slow start to the season but the Clarets are making clear strides. While they’ve been given hope of new investment in the team this month, as it stands Sean Dyche is thriving with the players he has.

Burnley claimed a 1-0 victory against Sheffield United last time out, with the Clarets now winning three from four at home. Given their good record against Fulham here, we’re backing the hosts in our predictions this weekend.

Burnley have claimed two 1-0 wins at home already this season and we see them claiming another one here. This is likely to be a tight contest and the fact that Fulham have failed to score in three of their last five while conceding in every away trip swings it for us.

Burnley injuries and team news

Charlie Taylor is out for Burnley, which should see Erik Pieters step into the starting line-up. The Clarets are hopeful that Dwight McNeil, Jack Cork, Jay Rodriguez, Johann Gudmundsson and Matej Vydra will all overcome their issues.

Fulham injuries and team news

Terence Kongolo is a doubt for Fulham, but he’s the only injured player in their squad. However, their recent COVID outbreak could leave some first team players absent.
