      Burnley vs MK Dons Predictions

This would have been a Premier League versus League One clash had it happened last season and the clubs have never met in the league, since Wimbledon made the controversial switch to Milton Keynes at the turn of the century.

They may not have quite lived up to the standards of their opening day 4-1 win away win at Rotherham but the Dons are certainly holding their own in the Championship. They’ve 7 points from 6 games so far but have lost their last two games against Birmingham and Middlesbrough and both were by 2-0 scorelines.

Worryingly the goals seemed to have dried up a little for them and they’ve only managed 1 in their 5 games since their opening day win. Burnley are a very settled side, who have just added a little firepower in the shape of Andre Grey and the club’s record signing netted in the 3-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend.

He gives them that little spark that could prove crucial in tight games of which there are many at this level. The confidence of that win won’t have gone away given this will be their second run-out at Turf Moor in the space of 4 days. Burnley are very strong at home in this division and Sean Dyche’s side have only lost 2 of their last 30 Championship home games and have taken 7 points from 9 at Turf Moor so far this season.

Therefore it is hard to look past them here against a Milton Keynes side, who look good enough to play at this level but aren’t going to be a big threat to the top sides of which Burnley should be one. The Clarets could move in to the top two with a win here and are good value to do that at 8/11 and could well be worth including in any Tuesday night accumulators.

In terms of a correct scoreline, this could well go the way of MK Dons’ last two matches where they were in the game but couldn’t break through and ended up losing both 2-0. Burnley will certainly cause them problems and a repeat scoreline would be no surprise and can be backed at 7/1.
