Goals on the cards as Burton face Morecambe

Burton have hit a rough patch in form but the visit of Morecambe on Friday night should give them a chance to put some more points on the board.

The Brewers started the new season with three straight wins in League One but have managed just one victory in nine games since (D4, L4).

That success did come in their last home game in the league though, a 2-1 win over Portsmouth, and they showed some spirit at league leaders Plymouth last time out despite going down 2-1 at Home Park.

Morecambe have settled into life in League One well after winning promotion last season but their away form has been poor. The Shrimps have lost three of their five away games so far, with one draw and one win, and blew a 2-0 lead in a 4-3 defeat at Wycombe in their last league game on the road.

A Burton win does have some appeal here but at a similar price both teams to score looks the best bet for this League One match-up. The hosts have just one win in their last 11 games in all competitions so it is hard to back them with any real confidence and the stats do suggest we’ll see goals for both sides.
