Can Cadiz pick up another important win?

They’re still in the La Liga relegation zone, but there have been signs of a Cadiz revival either side of the World Cup, thanks to two wins and just one defeat from their last five league games.

Sergio’s side do appear to be improving, beating Valencia 1-0 last week, a fifth clean sheet in 11 league games, to add to a 1-1 draw at home to Almeria in their final outing of 2022.

Those two results mean they are within touching distance of pulling themselves out of the relegation zone, while they are unbeaten in five matches on home soil, four of which have ended all square.

Elche in desperate trouble

Elche on the other hand look destined for relegation, as they have picked up just four of an available 48 points so far this season.

Indeed, they are yet to even win a league game, with the records at home and away proving identical; eight played, two drawn and six lost.

Jorge Almirón has been in charge for their last five fixtures, three of which have ended in defeat, while they have only netted six times away from home.
