      Cardiff vs Wolves Predictions

Wolves were involved in a thrilling game in midweek that could have ended 5-5 if both sides had been more clinical. Instead they threw away a 2 goal lead and lost 3-2 at home to QPR to the disappointment of the Molineux crowd.

Both teams have scored in all of their 4 games this season and in 10 of their last 11 competitive matches. Kenny Jackett always sets up his teams to be positive but often they get exposed at the back and this certainly looks to be another open game against a Cardiff side who are sure to be positive at home.

Both teams have scored in 7 of Cardiff’s last 8 Championship matches too so this looks like a real candidate for a BTTS bet. The odds are not too short either at 8/11 and there looks to be real value given the positive approaches of these two sides.

It’s hard to pick a winner though and the bookies can’t split them with both clubs available at 13/8 to win the game. All of Cardiff’s fixtures so far have ended in score draws while Wolves haven’t been involved in any games settled by more than a goal so far this season including 6 pre-season friendlies so you really can’t see either team controlling this one.

Wolves striker Benik Afobe is being strongly linked with a move to Premier League Norwich but should still be available here and has netted 3 times in 3 Championship games this season to add to the 12 he bagged last season. Cardiff are still looking a bit shaky at the back so Wolves could well expose that here, especially on the break.

However they will have been hurt by the experience of seeing a 2-0 lead convert into 0 points in midweek and with just 2 days to pick themselves up their own defensive frailties could also be evident again here.

With little to choose between the sides, a score draw is a likely outcome and it could easily be 2-2 rather than 1-1 and there are bigger potential returns in backing that scoreline at 12/1.
