Charleroi vs Oostende Free Predictions & Betting Tips

Charleroi come into this fixture in fourth place having recorded their third win in five matches last weekend when they defeated Standard Liege by a comfortable 3-0 margin. The host remain in the top four but are four points off second and third in the form of Antwerp and Club Brugge. This Friday night fixture provides Charleroi with the chance to get a jump on their rivals ahead of the weekend but they will be looking to rectify their indifferent home record this season.

The hosts have won eight games in the league this season but just three of those have come at home. They have lost three of their eight matches (D2) but each of those defeats were to sides in the top half. Charleroi have won each of the last two meetings as hosts and given Oostende’s torrid away record I’m backing them to emerge victorious again.

Homesickness is a problem for Oostende

The visitors recorded a 2-1 win over Eupen last weekend to jump from 16th to 12th in the league table with none of the nine sides directly above them at the start of the week winning. They moved to within two points of the top eight and Europa Conference League places as a result and are now four points above the relegation play-off place.

That defeat ended a five-game losing run for Oostende, four of which were in the league but away from home they are having problems. On the road, they are without a win since they made it back-to-back victories on their travels in August.

They have lost six of their last seven without scoring a goal in any of those defeats away from home and I’m expecting their away day woes to continue here. Oostende are conceding 2.1 goals per league game on average so I’m predicting a 2-0 home win in this one.
