Charlotte can make home advantage count

Charlotte look set to continue their winning streak when they host Toronto at Bank of America Stadium. The home side have been formidable in front of their own fans, with eight wins from their 11 MLS games there.

They have 14 points more than Toronto this season, with the hosts winning 11 and losing 11 of their games so far, while the visitors have five wins and 12 defeats.

Charlotte maintained their winning run last time, fighting back from a goal down at half-time to beat fellow strugglers Atlanta 3-2 in their MLS game last weekend.

Charlotte are in fine fettle at home, having enjoyed success in three of their last four MLS games there. They come into this match on the back of two consecutive wins at Bank of America Stadium.

It would be no surprise to see Charlotte score, having scored two goals or more in 15 of their 24 MLS games this season. They have also scored at least twice in five successive matches.

Toronto’s recent form in MLS has been up and down, with two wins, two draws and two defeats in their last six games.

They have struggled defensively of late, failing to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last 11 MLS games.

Charlotte have been strong at home, winning eight of their 11 games, and have recorded back-to-back victories by a single goal. Toronto lost 1-0 to Nashville last time out, and a 1-0 win for Charlotte looks like a decent correct-score pick.
