Chile vs Ecuador Predictions

• Chile have won each of their last three games.
• Ecuador have lost four of their six qualifiers on the road.

Chile to maintain winning run

La Roja come into this fixture off the back of three straight victories which has seen them climb into the automatic qualifying places. However, with Colombia and Uruguay on the same number of points, Chile can’t afford to slip up.

After a slow start to the campaign, the hosts have steadied the ship and have kept clean sheets in each of their last three qualifiers.

Chile defeated both Paraguay and Venezuela on home soil last month and 11 of their 16 points have been attained when hosting.

Ecuador defying the odds

It has been an incredible qualifying campaign from Ecuador to this day with La Tricolor accumulating 20 points and currently 3rd in the standings.

They will be looking to keep the likes of Chile, Uruguay and Colombia at arm’s length through the closing stages but their away form may hinder their progression.

Ecuador have won just one of their six away matches in qualifying scoring just four times compared to 17 goals in seven matches at home.

A 2-1 defeat at Venezuela, who are bottom of the group, sticks out and that is why I’m leaning towards a home win here for Chile. La Roja have scored 15 goals in 13 qualifiers so far though so I’m tipping a narrow 1-0 win for the hosts in the correct score market.
